I received an email on June 7th, 2013 and informed me that David L. Bechtold Sr. had passed away on June 27th, 2006. No cause of death was given. The only information provided was that he lived in San Antonio. I will post addition information if I receive any in the future.

I knew David from a couple of classes we had together. We joked around a lot then and were friends until graduation. I saw David some years later when he was working at Joe Saglembeni's wine shop off West Ave here in San Antonio. He was still a jolly character, but undergoing some changes with his personal life. He talked about his love of wines and about opening a restaurant. I lost track of him again until reading this sad entry.
God bless him and keep him as he was a gentle soul and a kind person that I shall miss.
David Lee Bechtold entered into rest June 27, 2006 in San Antonio at the age of 53. He was born March 17, 1953 in San Antonio to the late Alois M. Bechtold & Ruth E. (Myers) Sparks. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing throughout his life. He is survived by his mother Ruth Sparks & husband Merval; daughter Michelle Hartfiel & husband Brandon; son David Bechtold Jr.; daughter Jennifer Bechtold; 2 grandchildren Dillon and Matthew Bechtold; brother Ricky Bechtold & wife Rayna; sister Ruth Ann Ford & husband Danny; companion Belinda Howard; close friend Alec Hardy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
