Obituary for Elaine Laree Libby

Elaine Laree (Little) Libby, 63, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, 6th September 2016 due to heart failure and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIPD).

She was born August 21st 1953 to Herman Senior and Mary Jane Little. She was a graduate of Limestone High School, Texas Tech University and American Intercontinental University.

Elaine was a devout Christian who was an active member of both First Baptist Church of Bellevue, Nebraska (1979 – 1999) and First Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas (1999 – 2016). She enjoyed singing in the choir, interpreting for the hearing impaired, discussing and analysing the bible in Sunday school and praying for the world during weekly prayer meetings.

Elaine had a passion for languages; she spoke English and French fluently. She shared this passion by teaching languages to junior high and high school students in Nebraska and Texas for over 25 years. She enjoyed travelling extensively around Europe and the United States and meeting good friends everywhere she went. She celebrated European culture by square dancing in many countries, visiting historical sites, enjoying French cuisine and bringing it alive at home and in the classroom.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Senior and Mary Jane; and her brothers Herman Junior and Larry Wayne.

Survivors are her three children: Heather and partner Adrian, Jason and wife Shelly, and Wyatt and wife Amanda; her grandchildren: Skyler, Anika, Nessa, Austin, Lucian, Bailie, Atreyu, Shaun, Asharrah and Amelia; her sister Marilyn; her sister-in-law Molly; and many extended family members, including former husband, Don Libby.

Elaine chose to be cremated and will be interned in Bellevue, Nebraska. A private memorial service will be held upon her interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Television and Media Ministry at First Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas; 515 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78215, e-mail: info@fbcsa.org, phone: (210) 226-0363.

Elaine will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with God and family!
