Leann Ward

Leann Ward

This information comes from Leann's sister, Karen Ward Fox:

A friend told me that Brian Hastings was looking for an obituary for Leann. I am her sister and posted this on “Mac Gone but not Forgotten.” My sweet sister, Leann Ward class of ‘71, went to Heaven on September 30, 2017. Leann is the eldest of 2 daughters of Jim & Donna Ward. She was diagnosed with 2 types of cancer (stage 4) on November 4, 2016, our Mother’s birthday. Leann’s work was her life. She was a graduate of the first graduating class of UTSA School of Nursing after the School of Nursing was moved to the UTSA campus. She was proud to be an “old school” BSN, RN loving to care for each patient. Her 41 year nursing career started at Humana hospital’s geriatric floor, then to kidney dialysis clinics, then to Nursing home Director of Nurses and finished her last 15 years or so as a home health RN. Leann worked until this past June. I am glad to say that God blessed us with awesome sister visits over the past 9 months, since she had decreased her work schedule. Through all of this I have learned that we have many options other than conventional medicine. Cancer is not the thing that kills us, it’s a sick immune system and what we do to ourselves. I could not get her on board with additional therapies since she was of the conventional medicine world. Leann requested not to have a funeral.

She could have been a model because her beauty could not be denied. But she was a very nice person too. So very sad to hear that Leann passed away...and way too soon. heart
