Welcome to the Mac Arthur High School Class Of 1971 web site!

The 40th Reunion was a great success! I know those that were able to attend enjoyed seeing old friends and hopefully made some new ones at the same time!

Please take some time to check out the profiles of the folks that have signed onto the web site!  If you have signed on, please put down some information about you and/or your family, so we can all get a quick run-down on what you have been up to for the last 40 years!  This is "our" website so please use it as much as you like.  You can send messages back & forth, and use the message forum to get conversations started on just about any subject you see fit. I have enjoyed getting involved on a couple of those already.

Upload some pictures to show us your family or your interests, or your "passion"!  I firmly believe that the more the site is used the better it will get.  If you have any suggestions about it or what we can try to improve on it please feel free to drop me a quick note and I will see what I can do.

There are still a lot of our classmates that are still living in the San Antonio and surrounding area, so this is a great way to organize smaller get togethers when ever someone wants to take that on.  I will help as much as possible to get the word out on any such events.

I will do my best to keep you informed on any "goings on" that I may hear about.  Don't be strangers, drop by the site often and update you profiles when ever you feel like it.

Again, I had a great time at the 40th Reunion, and I thank you all for making it a big success.  You all stay well, and by all means keep in touch with me and each other !  I will be in touch.

- THIS DAY IN HISTORY -

High Wycombe Weighs New Mayor 20th May ( 1958 ) : An annual custom dating back to medieval times unique to High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England weighs the Mayor of the town each year so that the public can see whether or not he has been getting fat at the taxpayers' expense.

During the weigh in performed by the local "macebearer" dressed in traditional costume rings a bell and calls out the weight.
When he adds the words "And no more!" the crowd cheers as a sign of their appreciation and gratitude for the hard work done by the mayor for the community.

When he adds the words "And some more!", it means the mayor has been indulging in too much good living at rate payers' expense and the crowd jeers and boos.

Charles Lindbergh 20th May ( 1927 ) :Charles Lindbergh who many called the "flying fool" has set off from Roosevelt Field in Long Island, NY, today flying the "Spirit of St. Louis" on an epic flight from New York to Paris and is a milestone in flying aviation history, he is expected to arrive in Paris sometime late tomorrow. His plane A Ryan is expected to travel up to 125 MPH as the fuel load decreases.

Freedom Riders 20th May ( 1961 ) An angry mob consisting of all white's attacked a busload of "Freedom Riders" ( Freedom Riders were testing the United States Supreme Court decision Boynton v. Virginia, that gave them a legal right to disregard local segregation ordinances regarding interstate transportation facilities. ) in Montgomery, Ala., prompting the federal government to send in United States marshals to restore order.
